One of the oldest, most established and highly respected Taekwondo Associations in the world. The founder of Taekwondo Han Moo Kwan was Great Grandmaster Kyo Yoon Lee he was also one of the founding fathers of the Korea Taekwondo Association, the Kukkiwon and the World Taekwondo Federation.

All Tiger Martial Arts Legacy Instructors have the opportunity to be certified by Great Grandmaster Won and the World Taekwondo HanMooKwan Federation.

Han Moo Kwan was founded in August 1954 by Great Grandmaster Kyo Yoon Lee and is one of the nine original Kwans that later formed Kukkiwon Taekwondo.

Lee was a student at the Chosun Yun Moo Kwan Kwon Bop Bu, learning from its founder, Sang Sup Chun. Later, after the Korean War Armistice Agreement was signed in 1953, Lee started teaching the returning Yunmoo Kwan Kwon Bop Bu members at the Hankuk Chaeyuk Kwan Dojang. He later left to start his own Kwan by setting up a tent at a High School.

Kyo Yoon Lee was active in the Kukkiwon and served on the High Dan/Poom Black Belt promotion committee of the Kukkiwon.

Taekwondo Han Moo Kwan still exists today. The official training curriculum endorsed by Taekwondo Han Moo Kwan is the Kukkiwon curriculum. Sadly Great Grandmaster Kyo Yoon Lee passed away in April 2017.  Before his death he appointed a successor and also certified him to the highest rank possible the 10th Dan Black Belt and the title of Great Grandmaster of the World Taekwondo HanMooKwan Association.  The current President of Taekwondo Han Moo Kwan is now Great Grandmaster In Hui Won, one of the world’s highest ranked Black Belts and now the second president. Han Moo Kwan supports the World Taekwondo Federation and Kukkiwon.  Great Grandmaster In Hui Won certified Master Viani to the rank of 8th Dan Black Belt and the title of Grandmaster and Vice President of the World HanMooKwan and President of the Canada HanMooKwan.

The word Han means Korea, the word Moo means Military or Martial, and the word Kwan means School or Hall; together Han Moo Kwan means “Korean Military School”.
